Igniting passion and purpose with Employee Resource Groups while impacting the bottom line!

At SAP, in October 2018, we had an inaugural in-person event for our women-led employee resource group. We all experienced an unbelievable two days of energy and passion!

This was an opportunity to develop our chapter leaders, become a high-impact employee resource group, and share experiences. Significantly, this translates into our chapter leaders becoming stronger employees for our company and increasing their business impact on the company’s bottom line. We showcased our commitment to the gender parity topic and as we heard from chapter leaders around the globe, we are making an impact! The chapter leaders are making their passions a reality!

5 key takeaways of creating an event like this for employees:
1) Employees are a company’s greatest strength and we are stronger together
2) When a company puts employees first, they will pay it forward and put customers first
3) Being present in the moment, being aware of the power of community, and feeling valued – is immeasurable
4) Employee resource groups, like this one, are key to female talent retention in companies
5) Relationships and teamwork are what brings employees together and will continue to drive us forward.

The in-person event exceeded expectations of all those involved. The participants enjoyed being engaged, feeling valued, and being put first! Additionally, the ability to connect with each other was invaluable and provided inspiration and energy to all who attended.

How do women employees run at their best at SAP? By getting involved and participating in an employee resource group!

When all is said and done, people must be your number one asset. Everything else will flow from that!
