After 18 years of war, an Afghanistan peace deal created on Saturday is already falling apart. Today the Taliban is launching more attacks on civilians and Afghan security forces. Simultaneously we’re seeing the fate of Syria play out, as Russian president Vladimir Putin and Turkish leader Recip Erdogan meet in Moscow. Joining Christiane are Vali Nasr, a former senior advisor to the U.S. Special Representative for Afghanistan, and New Yorker columnist Susan Glasser.
Originally aired on February 5, 2020.
