SheTrades, a flagship initiative of International Trade Centre (ITC), aims to connect one million women entrepreneurs to market by 2020. SheTrades provides women entrepreneurs around the world with a unique network and platform to connect to international markets. Within the scope of this initiative, SheTrades implements a project that helps connect women-owned/-led SMEs in three Indian Ocean Rim Association (IORA) countries, Kenya, Indonesia and Sri Lanka, to market. This project is funded by the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT). Up to December 2017, 411 women increased their skills and capacity to connect to international markets, 103 women connected to 328 international buyers from 66 countries and over USD 1,110,000 sales generated.
