La egipcia Eman Ahmed, considerada la mujer más obesa del mundo, ha sido sometida con éxito a una operación de reducción de peso, según han informado este médico los médicos del hospital de la localidad india de Bombay donde ha sido intervenida.
En el mismo, ha asegurado que “recibe fluidos orales y los acepta bien”, agregando que el equipo médico trabajará “para que pueda volar de vuelta a Egipto lo antes posible”. El hospital edificó unas instalaciones especiales para poder operar a Ahmed, quien pesaba unos 500 kilogramos, según su familia. En los semanas previas a la operación, los médicos lograron que perdiera cerca de un centenar de kilogramos.
La mujer, de 36 años, no había podido abandonar su vivienda en la capital egipcia, El Cairo, en los últimos 25 años. Fue trasladada a India en un Airbus modificado para su viaje. La mujer sufrió hace dos años un infarto que ha limitado su movilidad, y padece además de diabetes, asma, hipertensión, problemas pulmonares y depresión.
