Tetenus vaccine allegations negatively impacting immunisation programmes

The World Health Organization and United Nations Children’s Fund now say the tetanus vaccines currently being administered in the country are safe and procured from a pre-qualified manufacturer.
A statement from the two organizations released this evening says the safety of the vaccine is assured through a three pronged global testing system,
And claims that the vaccine is contaminated with a hormone that can cause miscarriage and render some women sterile are not backed up by evidence.
The two bodies warned that the allegations against the vaccines risked negatively impacting on immunization programmes, assuring recipients that the tetanus vaccines being given are perfectly safe.
According to UNICEF and the WHO, the vaccine has reached more than 130 million women in 52 countries
