In 2004, GWLN was founded by Linda Alepin, Board Chair and 20 individuals who believed passionately in a world where women can step out of survival and dependence into their inherent power. The first Women Leaders for the World program was offered in 2005 and Joan Banich became one of the first 15 women who graduated from GWLN. In 10 years, GWLN has delivered transformational leadership education to nearly 200 leaders including the first course held in Uganda by the East Africa Regional Alliance in 2014. Our graduate community of women and men leaders live in over 40 countries and have impacted over 300,000 lives through their work. They have formed lifelong connections and are part of an exclusive global network for professional support and sustained career growth.
