IMF chief warns COVID-19 outbreak has put already fragile global economic recovery at risk

G20 재무장관 회의 “코로나19로 세계 경제 하방압력”

The head of the International Monetary Fund is warning that the COVID-19 epidemic could already be putting the fragile global economic recovery at risk,… calling its potential economic ripple effects a “real concern”.
Following a two-day meeting of G20 finance ministers and central bank governors in Saudi Arabia, Kristalina Georgivea said the projected recovery is fragile.
The IMF projects a “V-shaped, rapid recovery” for the global economy-but said given the uncertainty around the spread of the virus, Georgivea urged financial leaders to “prepare for more adverse scenarios.”
And while the world’s top 20 economic finance leaders, too, expect a modest pickup in growth this year due to loosened monetary policy and the easing of trade tensions-they agreed to monitor the effects of the epidemic.
